Fashion Scholars Program

LIM College’s Fashion Scholars Program provides an enriched academic experience, a challenging experiential learning environment, and a close-knit community of motivated students and alumni. LIM College Fashion Scholars acquire a deep knowledge of the global fashion industry, positioning them for the most competitive careers in fashion.

Fashion Scholars Program Privileges include:

Study Abroad Scholarship: Each Fashion Scholar is awarded $5,000 to support a study abroad program of her or his choice.  Fashion Scholars have traveled to Australia, France, Italy and Great Britain.*

Industry Mentors: Fashion Scholars are assigned an industry mentor who supports them in setting and realizing career goals.  Mentors are executives in the Fashion Industry offering to Scholars a wide range of valuable knowledge and experience. 

Personalized Advising: A team of senior-level college administrators provide mentorship and guidance to each scholar, meeting with them one-on-one for academic and career advising.

Network of Professional Alumni: Fashion Scholars Alumni mentor LIM’s Fashion Scholars, providing advice on time management, curriculum, and extra-curricular opportunities.  Alumni also serve as contacts within the industry for internship and job opportunities for Scholars.

Priority Registration: Fashion Scholars register for classes prior to registration opening to the general student population. 

Honors Courses: Fashion Scholars take one to three honors classes each semester, working with LIM’s most talented faculty on courses such as Honors Marketing, Honors Public Speaking, and Honors Economics.  Honors courses challenge scholars to think critically, synthesizing and applying knowledge across their courses. 

Program Requirements:

To remain in the Fashion Scholars program, students must maintain a 3.0 GPA. Students must earn a “B” in an honors class to earn honors credits.

Students need to complete at least 24 Fashion Scholars credits to graduate in the scholars program.

The LIM College Fashion Scholars Program is open primarily to incoming freshmen. Sophomores, upperclassmen, and transfer students will be considered on a case by case basis.
