Visual Merchandising Full-Time and Adjunct Faculty

Laurel Lueders


Throughout her career as a practicing artist, Professor Lueders has given more than two dozen artists lectures and gallery talks. Working in a variety of media, she has shown in over 25 solo exhibitions throughout the world, as well as in more than 100 group exhibitions. Her work is also part of the permanent collections of museums and cultural institutions in New York, Wisconsin, California, Hungry, Germany, Italy, and Cyprus.

Professor Lueders joined LIM in 2013 as an adjunct faculty member and in 2014 was promoted to full-time lecturer in the Arts & Sciences Department, where she taught a variety of classes in art history and cultural studies. She was named Chair of the Visual Merchandising Department in 2016.

Professor Lueders teaching career began at University of Wisconsin at Madison, where she received a master’s degree in Design Studies. She later earned an MFA in Fine Arts, with a focus on Interdisciplinary Studio practice, from the School of Visual Arts.

In the summer of 2016, Professor Lueders led LIM College’s "The Arts in Florence" program at Florence University of the Arts in Italy.

Marjorie Lee Woo

Associate Chair

Winner of the 2011 LIM College Teaching Excellence Award, Marjorie Lee Woo is an accomplished milliner who connects students with hands-on opportunities in the visual merchandising world. Among the courses she teaches are Introduction to Visual Merchandising, Visual Presentation, and Product Presentation. She has also worked with students on projects for Solstice Sunglass Boutiques and the Garment District Alliance.

Professor Woo has held numerous positions in the fashion industry, including as a Buyer for Joske's department store. She currently runs her own hat design business, Marjorie Lee Woo Fine Millinery. Her work has been featured in many publications, including Women’s Wear Daily (WWD) and Modern Bride, as well as on ABC's The View, and at New York Fashion Week.

Professor Woo is a two-time recipient of International Retail Design Conference’s Iron Merchant award and has also won two Milli millinery awards. She is a member of the Retail Design Institute, the Planning and Visual Education Partnership, and the Pan-Pacific Southeast Asia Women’s Association.

The recipient of a Bachelor of Science degree in Home Economics from the University of Texas at Austin, Professor Woo also holds an Associate in Applied Science degree in Fashion Design and a Certificate in Millinery from the Fashion Institute of Technology.

Patti Jordan


Patti Jordan is an interdisciplinary artist working within the realms of visual, literary and media culture. She teaches Introduction to Visual Merchandising, Advanced Display Graphics, and Contemporary Art.

Companies Professor Jordan has worked for include ABC TV, CNBC TV, Lifetime Television, Sat.1 Sport & News (Germany) and Fox News Channel. At Sat. 1 and Fox News she was instrumental in the overall concept design and visual identity for their respective on-air launches. 

Professor Jordan has shown in over 50 art exhibitions worldwide.  She was interviewed by Sable Smith for NoTofu Magazine's Spring 2014 issue, and is the recipient of a Ford Foundation Award.  She also lectures on art and design and her writings have appeared in publications including Fashion Mannuscript magazine, the WCA International Caucus and ARTCAT Zine

The recipient of a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree with Honors from Pratt Institute, Professor Jordan also holds a Master of Fine Arts degree, summa cum laude, from Montclair State University.

Grailing King

Clinical Instructor

Grailing King started teaching at LIM College on a part-time basis in 2006 and is currently a full-time faculty member in the Visual Merchandising Department. Among the courses he teaches are Introduction to Visual Merchandising, Visual Presentation, and History, Theory & Practice of Visual Merchandising. He’s also the advisor for LIM’s Visual Merchandising Club and had led LIM's Cross-Cultural Analysis trips to Amsterdam, Paris, London, Berlin, Barcelona, Rome and Florence.

As a visual merchandiser with vast professional experience in New York City, Professor King has created visual display installations for several top retail locations. During his time at Macy's Herald Square he had the opportunity to work on every floor of the store. At Victoria’s Secret he oversaw the flagship store as Visual Co-Director and then moved on to the Women’s Accessories and Cosmetics departments at Bergdorf Goodman.

Professor King holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Communication from Illinois State University and a Certificate in Fashion Design from the Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising. He received LIM College's Award for Teaching Excellence in 2014 and is a member of BRAG (Black Retail Action Group).
